Jeremi Syron - General Manager
Big Game, Wingshooting & Fishing Guide, 2003

Jeremi grew up along the Middle Fork of the Clearwater River just 25 miles east of the Flying B Ranch.  A native, Jeremi has been guiding hunting and river rafting trips in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness since the late ‘90s.

In addition to his field experience, Jeremi has a B.S. in Environmental Field Biology and spent several seasons as a biologist doing habitat work for the Nez Perce Tribe.  The utmost respected guide among his peers, Jeremi’s attitude reflects his work ethic and motivation in the field.

His knowledge as an outdoor enthusiast and guide is unmatched. You cannot guarantee the weather, but plan on a lot of laughs as he is known almost as much for his sense of humor and upbeat personality.  Once you hunt with Jeremi, you will want to venture out in the field with him again and again.

Jeremi's range of responsibilities at the ranch have expanded over the years, allowing him to build an in-depth understanding of all aspects of the operation from the paperwork to the ground work.   His dedication to the Flying B Ranch is evident in everything that he does at the 'B'.  Jeremi is committed to the success of the ranch in all aspects, to ensure that we are the employer of choice for our team and the destination of choice for our guests.  The staff is excited to have Jeremi at the healm as he is a hands-on manager that works along-side our team in any and all areas that an extra set of hands is needed.

He and his wife Karen (our Marketing Manager) are proud parents to two beautiful daughters and spend their days outside of work enjoying the outdoors both on land and water.  Their home upriver is also home to an ever expanding roster of animals including his kennel of working dogs: 2 walker hounds, a blue tick hound, an English pointer, and a German shorthair pointer.

Rich Coe - Wingshooting & Fishing Manager, 1997

Rich’s reputation precedes himself and he is known as being one of the most skilled and knowledgeable fishing guides on the Clearwater River.

Rich grew up in Boise, Idaho and has been a hunting and fishing fanatic since childhood.

He began bird hunting at age 12 and the next year began fly fishing on the Boise River and Silver Creek in the Sun Valley area.

Rich moved to Bozeman, Montana in 1992 where he attended Montana State University. At 20 Rich started his guiding career in Colorado guiding fly fisherman on the Roaring Eagle River and similar notable waters. He guided for several years around the Bozeman area, namely on the Yellowstone and Madison Rivers up until making the move back to Idaho.

Rich came to the Flying B Ranch in 1997 and has been a fishing & hunting guide on land and water ever since. Besides guiding fishing trips, he has been training bird dogs and guiding wingshooters for years and is commonly requested by our return guests.

Carol Langston - Lodge Manager, 2005

Carol’s enthusiasm, people skills and attention to details make her a perfect fit as our Guest Services Manager.

Carol acquired an appreciation of the outdoors at an early age as her “Southern” father taught her to love fishing, fried catfish and boiled peanuts.  He also instilled in her a respect for firearms and our “Right to Bear Arms.”

Moving to Idaho when she was 27 from San Diego, CA, Carol fell in love with Idaho and chose this to be the best place to raise her five children.  Carol’s number one priority is spending time with her family that also has the addition of grandchildren.

They spend time on and around the rivers of Idaho with a family member they adopted from the Flying B Ranch - Danner, a black lab.  Time is also spent supporting her children’s sporting events at the University of Idaho or other activities where “mom’s presence” is required.

Carol has been an asset to the Flying B Ranch staff for numerous years. When she needs a change of scenery, her destination of choice is Cabo San Lucas in the winter for fun, sun, and deep sea fishing.  She hopes to retire there.

Karen L. Syron - Marketing Manager, 2006

Karen grew up in the Northern Idaho Panhandle and since childhood has always felt most at home in the outdoors.

Upon finishing high school, Karen went away to pursue journalism and wildlife biology at the University of Montana but missed her Idaho home.

In 2005 she finished up her degree at the University of Idaho with a BS in Wildlife Resources. During college, every summer took her somewhere new. She worked in a variety of field research jobs for the Idaho Department of Fish and Game as well as the National Park Service.

Her love of the outdoors and serving others is what brought her to the Flying B Ranch in 2006.  Karen began managing our lodge and guest services in 2007 and  continued to do so until starting a family in 2012.  She now works from home, as our Marketing Manager.

Karen feels very blessed to call the Middle Fork of the Clearwater River her home.  She spends her time with her family, fishing, hunting, rafting, gardening, quilting, and everything else that being a mother entails.  Karen is married to our General Manager and hunting guide, Jeremi.  She and Jeremi enjoy a 'date night' of archery deer hunting or grouse hunting when time allows.  They have two beautiful daughters, Sadie and Eva Mae.  They have bustling kennel of working dogs including walker hounds, a bluetick hound, an English pointer, and a German shorthair pointer.  Their farm is also home to a herd of goats, chickens, a paint horse, and a retired FBR mule who enjoys taking the kids on rides around their home.

Ryan Nelson - Head Chef, 2005

After fishing many streams throughout Idaho, Ryan realized his home should be as close to the Clearwater River as possible.

Head Chef Ryan Nelson is an Idaho native—born and raised in a small town in Southeastern Idaho called Soda Springs.

Growing up he had aspirations of becoming a golf pro which brought him to Boise, Idaho to learn the game and play more.

During his time in Boise he came to realize he could not golf as much as he had anticipated because of his severe addiction to fly-fishing. Ryan's passion to chase those “B –Run” steelhead 6-7 months of the year became a reality when he joined the Flying B Team.

He has been in the restaurant business since the age of sixteen and has worked with some very talented chefs over the years. He has a plethora of recipes that exceed our guests’ expectations as he prepares specialty wild game cuisine including many amazing meals with upland birds. He has a taste for wine and always has the perfect bottle selected for the evening dinner. He is also requested often for our backcountry camps.

Ryan is the proud owner of the ranch mascot “Gunner”.

Ian Privette - Wingshooting & Fishing Guide, 2013

Ian joins the Flying B Ranch team as a duel hunting and fishing guide. His experience and passion for working dogs, swinging flies, and putting guests on plentiful birds and hefty fish makes him a valuable addition to the team.

Ian grew up in Springfield, Illinois, but some of his most memorable early hunting experiences took place in North Carolina hunting quail with his father and uncle. After receiving a master’s degree in guitar jazz performance from Southern Illinois University in 2008, Ian decided to veer off the career path of his graduate school peers and instead venture out West to become a guide.

Ian began his Orvis-endorsed guide career in Montana, fishing for native west slope cutthroat and bull trout on the South Fork of the Flathead River. During this time he spent his winters in the low country of North Carolina guiding upland hunters for quail at Wintergreen Hunting Preserve and chasing red fish on the tidal flats. In 2013, he decided to brave his first western winter, and began guiding for Flying B Ranch.

When he is not guiding, Ian spends much of his time writing about and photographing his hunting and fishing experiences. His writing and photography has been featured by Wildlife in North Carolina Magazine, Montana Outdoors, and Montana Fly Fishing Magazine. These and other works, including many original recipes for wild game, are available on his blog: www.migrantwaters.blogspot.com . Other hobbies include obsessive shed horn hunting, tying flies, stocking his freezer with wild game, and chasing carp wherever he can find them.Ian and his wife, Janna, live in Kamiah with their two Brittanys, Gus (the hunting dog) and Max (the petting dog).

Gunner - Lodge Mascot & Greeter

My name is Gunner Nelson and I was born in 2005. I have been the Flying B Ranch mascot ever since, and life is really good.

I LOVE chasing birds and going fishing with my dad. One day at the river fishing, I ate something I shouldn’t have and my dad had to spend $5,000 to keep me alive. You could say I am a canine of wealth.

I really enjoy living here at the ranch because I get to meet a lot of different people and a good percentage of them like to scratch my belly and love on me.  I am neutered, friendly, amazingly handsome, and have been known to dress as a lion more than once.

Michele Bovey - Bird Room & Kennel Staff, 2005

Michele has been a part of the Flying B Team since 2005 lending her extensive knowledge from a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Resources and her upbringing as a hard working farmer’s daughter to our team.

She is always one to offer help and give advice when needed. Her and her family reside on the Camas Prairie in Craigmont. This is where she attended school, met her husband and they are raising a family.

Her traditions and passions for conservation and wildlife add to her value on our team.

She is currently in charge of our irrigation, sprinklers and yard maintenance, as well as caring for our prime hunting dogs and equine stock.

Then there's the co-direction of the stream bank restoration project to restore Lawyer Creek to a more natural state through building up the vegetation, trees and shrubs along its banks and bird cover. She is one of our shuttle drivers and may just be the smiling employee picking you up. Michele also works in our lodge answering questions and filling in when needed.

Arby Shown - Big Game, Wingshooting and Fishing Guide, 2006

Arby is a local, homegrown, Clearwater Valley resident.  He started working in the outdoor recreation industry while attending high school.  After completing school he worked in construction and started a family.  He has been back guiding at the ranch for several years now.

Arby has guided at the Flying B Ranch since 2007 starting out as a big game guide and then expanded to wingshooting and fishing.  In 2015 he transitioned into part time guiding for us in order to devote more time to his pastoring and involvement with his local church ministries.

Arby and his wife Kathleen are assistant pastors at the Life Center in Kamiah and have three children; Ridge, Selway and Briel.

Chad Weber - Wingshooting Guide, 2010

Previously a full time guide at the Flying B Ranch, Chad has been living closer to family for the last several years with his young son, Talon. His strong work ethic, passion for taking kids hunting, and strong dog training skills make him a versatile guide, and someone who will continue to visit the 'B' for the occassional round of guiding.  Although now a seasonal guide with us, he remains a valued part of the Flying B family.

Chad grew up in central Kansas hunting and fishing since he was a young child.  Following in his father’s footsteps as an avid outdoorsman, he knew that someday he would make his passion for the outdoors his livelihood.

Chasing pheasants, quail, deer, turkey and waterfowl is a daily passion and challenge for Chad.  Working for numerous outfitters in Kansas, Wyoming, Montana, and now Idaho, Chad has guided for a diverse number of upland bird and big game species.

Chad loves to hunt birds and big game, but feels there is nothing more enjoyable than guiding someone on a great hunt and creating life-long memories.  Chad's hunting team includes Maggie-a German Shorthair Pointer-one of the seven generations that his father raised and trained.

Nance Ceccarelli -Wingshooting Guide, 2015

Although Nance just began guiding for us in 2015, her experience working bird dogs on the Flying B Ranch dates back over a decade.  Nance participated in dog trials held at the Flying B Ranch many years ago.

Nance is a part-time guide for us, and we are lucky to have her every day she can spare from her busy career as an officer in the Idaho State Bar's Animal Law Section.   She was raised in Panama and Hawaii and attended college in Columbia, MO and law school in Moscow, ID.  She spent 17+ years in the Washington D.C. metro area before returning out West and now resides in Moscow, Idaho.

Nance began hunting as an "older" adult and has been hunting with, raising, and training bird dogs now for about 20 years.  Much like Nance's approach to the law, she loves sharing this passion with friends and strangers.  One of her interests is introducing young people to the wonderful world of wingshooting.  She is active with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game's hunter education and youth hunting programs, Pheasants Forever, and other local birddog clubs that enhance the eperiences of new hunters through a variety of events (youth hunts, hunter education, and speaking to women's groups).

Nance and her husband Paul are owned by 7 English Setters.  She raises puppies and fosters other dogs at her home occassionally.  They regularly travel to hunt wild birds in MT, OR, WA, and AZ.  They are also still very active in competitive field trialing at the regional and national levels.

Nance made a lasting impression on the guests that she guided in her first Fall at FBR.  She is nearly as well known for her sharp sense of humor an high-energy personality, as she is for her amazing team of dogs and drive for seeing her hunters succeed in the field.  If you are fortunate enough to get Nance on one of her "free from the law" days, you will surely ask for her again.
